Condition
In overall good condition, with minor firing imperfections scattered throughout including chips to the foot from the original firing. With surface wear typical for age.

Compare a closely related Tang dynasty bowl of comparable size, illustrated in Bo Gyllensvärd, Chinese Ceramics in the Carl Kempe Collection, Stockholm, 1964, cat. no. 247. Another attributed to the Five dynasties bowl is illustrated in Gakuji Hasebe, Sekai toji zenshu / Ceramic Art of the World, vol. 11, Tokyo, 1976, cat. no. 162, together with a Tang dynasty example potted with an everted rim, pl. 159.
