北宋 磁州窰白地剔黑彩牡丹紋瓶

the baluster body rising from a short spreading foot to a tall trumpet neck with rolled rim, freely carved through the layer of brown slip to the ivory white layer beneath with two large peony blooms borne on a meandering leafy scroll, all above a lappet band at the base and covered overall with a transparent glaze, Japanese wood box

This rare vase has some over-painting to the edge of the foot and a circa 2.5 x 6cm., crescent-shaped section of the foot, restoration to approximately a third of the rim and some minor glaze firing imperfections around the body.

傳世磁州窰美器，部分產自磁州觀台鎮。器身白地剔黑彩花紋，紋飾鮮明奪目。磁州窰白地剔黑彩製法特殊，素胎先敷化妝土，再以黑彩勾勒紋飾，复剔去黑彩，下露白淨化妝土，再施透明釉燒成。

觀台鎮出土一例，器形紋飾與本品相同，錄於《觀台磁州窰址》，北京，1997年，圖版9，編號2。比較一件近例，屬広田松繁舊藏，現寶蓄東京國立博物館，圖見《東京國立博物館圖版目錄‧中國古陶磁篇2》，東京，1988年，圖版560；另一件藏於出光美術館，東京，刊錄於《出光美術館藏品目錄·中國陶磁》，東京，1987年，圖版115；第三例，出自松岡美術館收藏，東京，展於《Famous Pieces of Chinese Pottery and Porcelain》，東京，1983年，編號23，售於倫敦蘇富比1975年3月25日。再參考一例，寶蓄維多利亞與艾伯特博物館，倫敦，錄於John Ayers，《Far Eastern in the Victoria and Albert Museum》，倫敦，1980年，圖版113。
