There is restoration to the scalloped rim. There is also a band of overpainting around the foot covering a shallow chip with an associated crack approx. 7cm., and some of the painting has flaked off. There is a 3.2cm long scratch on the central bulb and overall wear to the surface which is consistent with age and use.

本品器形碩美，當列傳世磁州窰瓷大器，形制別緻新穎，深黑褐彩與白地互襯，鮮明奪目，刻花精巧。如此褐彩紋花口瓶，鮮有同類者，乃見於世界知名收藏，而其尺寸、比例與紋飾各相異。

可比較一例，器形較小，刊於展覽圖錄，Yutaka Mino，《Freedom of Clay and Brush Through Seven Centuries in Northern China: Tz'u-chou Type Wares 960 - 1600 A.D》，印第安納波利斯美術館，印第安納波利斯，1980年，圖版78。Mino在書中展示另外四件較小磁州窰花口瓶，其中一件出土於河南盂縣扒村，一件屬皇家安大略博物館收藏，一件藏於上海博物館，一件由日本私人收藏，同上，圖見206-206。北宋河南觀台窰遺址曾出土一件褐彩瓶，器形與本品相類，乃北京考古學系與河北考古學家合作發掘，錄於《觀台磁州窰址》，北京，1997年，封面及彩圖圖版 10。亦可參考另外兩件相類花口瓶，各以黑釉及低溫燒青釉燒製，圖刊於《白と黒の競演 ―中国・磁州窯系陶器の世界》，大阪市立美術館，大阪，2002年，編號142，及Yutaka Mino，同上，編號96。
