此瓶釉色均勻光潤，器形優雅獨特，觀之，賞心悅目，撫之，愛不釋手。此瓶乃乾隆御窰佳器，極可能由傑出督陶官唐英（1682-1756年）監製。乾隆一朝，高宗大興藝文、明辨善藏，情況空前絕後。此瓶青釉顏色極佳，見沉穩溫潤之美，於乾隆御瓷中極為罕見，未有相同見諸記錄。

宋代青釉廣為世人所喜，清代粉青遂敬而效之。此瓶可謂清代粉青珍品，除釉色之外，器形亦見宋代遺韻，於官窰八方瓶基礎之上稍作變化，自成一格。清宮舊藏宋代官窰青釉八方瓶例，或為本拍品之雛形，見《宋官窰特展》，國立故宮博物院，台北，1989 年，編號15及18。

雍正時期已見相類粉青八方瓶例，至乾隆時期器形略有變化，頸略寬，沿略薄，體現出乾隆御窰不斷探索創新之特色。比較一相關雍正款青釉瓶例，售於倫敦蘇富比1999年6月16日，編號808。

乾隆時期已見與本拍品相類之八方瓶數例，然同形者皆施顏色較淺之仿汝釉，同色者卻加飾浮雕。見一器形相似之乾隆款仿汝釉八方瓶，載於《東京國立博物館図版目錄．中國古陶磁篇II》，東京，1990年，編號721。另見一例，曾先後兩次售於香港蘇富比，分別於1981年11月24日，及2005年10月23日，編號321；後又售於紐約蘇富比2009年9月16日，編號215。

見相類乾隆款粉青釉浮雕龍鳳紋八方瓶三例，均售於香港蘇富比，其一於2009年4月8日，編號1652，其二於2000年5月2日，編號613，其三於1994年11月2日，編號114。可比較另一粉青釉浮雕開光粉彩山水圖八方瓶例，售於香港蘇富比1980年5月21日，編號255，現藏香港藝術館，曾展於《清瓷薈錦 : 香港藝術館藏清代陶瓷》，香港藝術館，香港，1984年，編號69。

還可比較另一道光款仿官釉八方瓶例，藏台北故宮博物院，曾展於《關氏所藏晚清官窰瓷器》，香港中文大學，香港，1983年，編號85。
