梅道人畫多禿筆，蒼蒼莽莽，從北苑來。南湖老人楊伯潤寫於語石齋。

毛子堅舊藏海上名家書畫（編號261-269）

毛子堅（1882-1954），名經疇，上海人。家道豐瞻，清末民初期間，積極參與當地公共事務，擔任不少社團公職，在仕紳階層中聲譽俱隆。毛氏雅好藝術，日後專注社會活動，海上藝事仍多有參與，與吳昌碩以降之海上畫家極為熟稔，與吳湖帆更具姻親之誼。本輯所集均其後人直接提供，廣涉清中晚期海派名家，雖多屬成扇小品，惟質量極精，大有可觀矣！

註：楊伯潤擅寫山水，筆墨蒼潤，意境邈遠，逸氣溢滿，不沾時流習氣，稱譽滬上藝壇。本幅以近渚一角入畫，瘦竹老松，傍石而立，隔江遠望，葦草密植，煙水迷濛，圖中人迹杳然，清幽之境自生。題曰取梅道人筆法，輔淡墨寫之，蒼茫秀潤，亟得元人神韵，此亦其中歲後取法所在。

任頤與南湖友善，切磋畫藝，作品常倩其題跋，山水亦有請益，若參見伯年寫於一八九二年之〈柳岸納涼圖〉，除有高士岸畔觀書外，畫中構圖、佈局、筆墨與本幅類近，或觀此而得啟法，斟酌下筆，由此可見山水畫風受伯潤影響頗深。
