註：蔡孟堅（1905－2001），江西萍鄉人。畢業於青島大學經濟系。投身政界，歷任警政要職，一度掌蘭州市政，結識西涉敦煌研習石窟藝術之張大千，奠下逾卅載之友誼，過從甚密，屢獲贈書畫。他隨政府渡海赴台，極受最高當局倚重信任，從事對日外交工作，後被委任中央電影公司董事長。一九七三年退休後客居美國。

蔡玲玲乃蔡孟堅長女，一九三三年生於武昌，正值蔡氏擔任湖北省會警察局長。她隨父官職遷徙而轉居其任所，赴台接受教育，後留學美國，就讀於加州大學聖荷西分校。任職胡佛研究所東方圖書館時，業餘從事文藝創作，作品發表於台灣〈自由談〉、〈皇冠雜誌〉。

她與結識於台灣、同在美國留學之鄒斯益結縭，本幅即畫家送予二人之禮物，因具世誼，故上款稱曰「世講」。
