「宿兩初收，曉煙未泮」乃董其昌題畫句。賓虹晚年亦屢以此題畫，然祗論北宋，從未提董，蓋其對玄宰及華亭一派，袛求畫境空濛，卻失諸柔弱，用筆瑣碎，有欠清剛之意，甚不以為然。證諸本幅，山石渾厚，草木華滋，林壑蓊鬰，全著力於筆筆中鋒，層層積墨，而無一筆渲染，此亦畫家四十年代後期所追求者，由作品引証其觀點鮮明之畫論，可謂身體力行矣！
本幅乃著名裝飾美術設計家曹肇基舊藏。曹氏，一九二一年生，滿族，幼好金石書畫，四九年後從事展覽館、博物館等大型會展之美術設計，曾參與眾多重要國家項目。題跋者張正宇（1904-1976）乃著名漫畫家、工藝美術設計家，其書畫收藏亦豐，故應美術界仝道曹肇基之邀題跋。
