張善子 地中海所見

中華民國二十八年元月十七日午前六時，經地中海見北岸高原雪滿，而輪中之寒較頗塞加多矣。善子寫所見。

註：張善子一生熱愛國家，早歲投身革命，抗戰軍興，身負宣揚抗日、激勵民氣的任務，不辭跋涉，於一九三八年底，攜同自己與大千以及兄弟合寫作品百餘幅，赴歐美巡迴展覽，直至翌年九月經香港返國。

本幅上署具體日期，即畫家途經地中海赴歐期間所寫。入畫乃「高原雪滿」之景。他多寫走獸，鮮作山水，偶一為之，俱屬仿古，取景自外國風光者更稀。本幅多用乾筆皴擦於皮紙上，淡墨留白配合凸顯山勢的巖巉起伏，營造出峯頂皚皚雪蓋的寒意，俱見畫家深得清湘技法之三昧，也圖象化地記錄了他生平的特殊遊歷！
