彩衣翔舞羹嘗母，五十年華享盛名。
記得家風談往昔，圍棋一局起蒼生。
蘅牕先生五十大壽。乙丑嘉平月，吳昌碩年八十二。

上款：「蘅牕」即謝天錫（1875-1960），浙江鎮海人。赴滬，先入法商洋行，後自辦煤炭行，業務開展順利，分號遍及江浙各大城市，被推舉為上海煤業公會會長，時人稱曰「煤炭大王」。又涉足航運業，參與創建寧紹輪船公司。他又積極推動慈善事業，活躍於上海社團公益活動。

本幅即缶老賦七絕並書以賀謝氏五十大壽。
