王闓運 行書自寫詩

款識：
瀟湘有佳人，皎若明月光。夕隨飛雲逝，朝從順風翔。
容媚世所榮，蘭華恥自芳。負此窈窕質，徒倚媿中腸。

上款：「宮田」即宮田真吾，生平未詳，惟參見致其信札及獲贈書法，可知他在民國初年任職於日本東和公司，獲派往青島支店服務，經營有關航運、製油及礦產等業務。他與遜清顯宦瞿鴻禨、詩壇碩宿王湘綺、藏書大家楊守敬皆有往來。三人俱兩湖地區碩望之士，宮田氏或因通諳傳統漢學，活動範圍亦自北至南，遂得此機緣結交。

湘綺老人以詩文稱著晚清文壇，輩份地位尊崇，雖倚馬下筆千言，惟自矜筆墨，不輕易為人作書。本幅乃大字行書，錄五律一首於五尺中堂上，屬其傳世墨迹中鮮有者，由此可見對獲贈者禮遇之周矣！未具年款，若參照宮田氏來華活動之行迹，應出自湘綺晚歲之筆。
