註:畫家於一九七七年自滬來港,携有部分作品,本幅即其一,乃五十年代所出,寫畢,未署名,待定居香港後,方補款印。他在七九年捐贈予上海中國畫院的一批作品,其中多幀五十年代之靜物,構圖及處理手法可與本幅互相參照,從中可証其創作年代。
畫中見瓶插菖蘭,置於几上,下舖地毯,處於房中,圍以牆壁,窗戶垂薄紗,光線透入,照亮牆沿一角。如此佈局,且透過光影明暗之處理,瓶花與周遭遠近之空間關係,清晰立見。他寫來胸有成竹,行筆疾速俐落,了無粘滯,狀物精準,用色潑辣鮮艷,如厚重油彩施於宣紙上,視覺效果濃烈奪目,極具藝術感染力,流露了畫家盛年創作之充沛生命力。
