This group is in good condition, but has a various flaws: running through the body of the buffalo.

傳統國畫中，卧牛代表寧靜致遠﹑柔能克剛；童子騎於其背，象徵謙恭和順，溫馴恬淡；其奮蹄拉犁，更示春耕時令。牧童稚小，仍無懼牛身。一小麒麟拱照，寓意明君在位，奉天承運，彰顯太平盛世。
一件相近玉雕，曾為 Ronnie Greville 夫人、伊莉莎白皇后、Wallace 收藏，售於倫敦蘇富比2001年11月14日，編號44，後售於香港蘇富比2011年4月8日，編號3210；其二亦售於香港蘇富比2010年10月8日，編號2800；另一作例，尺寸稍大，售於倫敦佳士得2012年11月6日，編號10。另見玉雕臥牛麒麟，無牧童款，尺寸較大，屬Jersey伯爵伉儷收藏，售於倫敦蘇富比2012年5月16日，編號18；再有一例，售於倫敦佳士得1958年5月12日，編號143。
