superbly potted with a high-shouldered tapered body surmounted by a waisted neck and flared rim, the shoulder with three small evenly spaced loop handles, above a moulded raised double-fillet band, the body further bordered with two raised triple-fillet bands, covered overall with a rich purplish-blue glaze with lavender streaks thinning to mushroom around the rim and loop handles, the base covered in a mushroom-brown wash over an incised six-character seal mark, wood stand

The vase is in overall good condition, except for a small stabilised glaze flake of approx. 1.4 by 1.6 cm to the shoulder. The unglazed footrim has several firing lines with a few associated minor flakes.

梅瓶圓肩斂腹，窰變釉流淌繁複，華麗奪目，成功結合盛清造瓷技術與時興之金石學，以模造雙繫環與弦紋，配合新發展的窰變釉，別有新意詮釋高古青銅器形。雍乾官造窰變釉瓷，反映帝王傾慕宋代鈞瓷之心，《江西通志》記載雍正十年（1732）皇帝曾下御旨燒造仿鈞瓷，遂發展出九種不同的類鈞釉色。

雙繫梅瓶器形首見於雍正一朝，世宗命匠師以宮內珍藏歷朝古物為樣，摹古創新，唐英（1682-1756）任職景德鎮御窰廠督陶官時，興作典雅素淨風格，乾隆窰延續此風，然更加強調器形豐肩束頸之對比，此類梅瓶多施單色釉，如二件茶葉末釉例，其一藏於東京出光美術館，刊於《中國陶磁：出光美術館藏品圖錄》，東京，1987年，圖版963，另一件存於神戶白鶴美術館，錄於《世界陶磁全集》，東京，1956年，卷12，圖版99。一尺寸略大仿官釉梅瓶，展出於《清瓷薈錦：香港藝術館藏清代陶瓷》，香港，1984年，編號80。趙從衍舊藏亦有一瓶，二度售於香港蘇富比，1978年11月28日，編號203，及1987年5月19日，編號288。此類梅瓶之雍正窰原型，可參考北京故宮博物院藏一件仿官釉瓶，載錄於《清代御窰瓷器》，卷1（下），北京，2005年，圖版154。香港蘇富比也曾售出一件青釉作例，2009年10月8日，編號1635。

窰變釉梅瓶且飾繫環者，甚為珍罕，懷海堂珍藏一件乾隆梅瓶，瓶肩飾三羊首，展於《機暇清賞：懷海堂藏清代御窰瓷缾》，香港中文大學文物館，香港，2007年，編號74。

梅瓶底刻篆款，可參考林業強專文，〈清代雍乾兩朝御窰瓷器四題〉，錄於《機暇清賞》，前述出處，頁55-56，此處提及篆文年款可見於部分單色瓷與禮器，據宮廷檔案記載，此批瓷器造於乾隆十三年（1748）或之前。
