管偉邦乃香港土生土長的藝術家，且身兼教職，其作品屢見概念裝置和多幅組畫，尤善山林景緻，筆工細膩，用色純淨。管偉邦從豐富的多元文化視角出發，在筆下展現靜謐寧和的自然景色，與國畫傳統遙相呼應。《六君子》（拍品編號580）以三十六屏組成，畫板鑲邊彷彿框出窗景，反映現代都市人多由窗內欣賞自然。在金光燦爛的背景之上，是蒼翠竹林，影射傳統畫作藴含的古典情調。
管偉邦並非僅描繪摹寫自然景觀，他以傳統題材入畫，探索文人畫的淵源，更探討現今社會中人類與自然之間日漸疏離的關係。自宋代（公元960-1279年）以來，梅、蘭、竹、菊便被世人統稱作「四君子」，亦代表了一年四季。竹，因其傲然挺立、節節分明，象徵正直不屈、謙虛有節、溫潤內斂等品格，因而在四君子中常被當作儒家君子的代表。通過描繪充滿文化含義的主題，管偉邦創造了一個反躬自省的思維空間，同時亦流露對傳統文化的情感。畫板的鑲邊加深觀者與畫中主題的距離，拓展了畫面的深度，反映現今人類只透過一扇窗、或一面手機屏幕接觸大自然的現象。
管偉邦於1974年出生於香港，分別於1996年及2002年在香港中文大學取得學士及碩士學位，並於澳洲皇家墨爾本理工大學獲得藝術博士學位。管偉邦現任香港浸會大學助理教授，同時創作不輟。他的作品曾於世界各地展出，並為藝術機構及私人珍藏，當中包括 M+、香港藝術館、香港中文大學文物館，以及舊金山亞洲藝術博物館。
