賈雲娣1978年生於北京,為水墨畫大師賈又福之女。賈雲娣與父親同於中央美術學院研習國畫,她在2010年畢業後留校任教。有別於其父親受太行山啟發、大氣磅礡的山水畫,賈雲娣選擇描繪更私密隱秘的空間,通常是明暗黑白對比強烈的室內景致。光線從打開的門窗透進室內,透過一點固定的視角,邀請觀者尋幽。賈氏上承荷蘭黃金時代油畫對光的探索,運用紙墨之間的對比,以寫實手法描繪空間及氛圍。賈氏作品亦多見一點透視手法,與傳統中國書畫大相逕庭,因傳統中國書畫多採大氣透視、多重視角等手法,其父所繪之巨幅山水即為最佳典例。賈雲娣的畫作既保留傳統底蘊,亦為水墨傳統提供嶄新方向。
