鄧卜君於1957年生於臺灣花蓮，並在1984年於國立臺灣藝術大學取得傳統國畫學位。鄧家於台灣東海岸經營大理石生意，藝術家自幼便對岩石及其性質有了深厚理解。其作品結合了自身的水墨訓練和對西方光影技法的研究，創作出細緻精湛且極具個人風格的「石畫」及「供石」。鄧卜君在此作品中運用了「皺筆觸」以及點彩畫技術，採用了更細膩的畫筆，利用摩擦搓出不同的層次。鄧氏以簡樸的水墨，繪出扣人心弦的世界裡既繁複又超現實的風景，展現當代紙墨的無限生機。
