註：本幅無署年，按畫家手稿所示，乃一九四五年之作。

陶冷月先生筆下的月色山水、梅花等題材為世稱道，反而忽略了他在傳統國畫上的造詣。本幅乃其傳世罕見的人物畫作之一。從構圖佈局，以至筆墨運用，全出於傳統，寫來具明人面貌，見浙派流風影響，惟筆墨收放有度，流暢中頗見節制，去後期浙派之粗放，而有宋畫韻味。
