Condition
Two sections of the mouth have been restored with sprayed areas measuring approx. 10 and 2 cm. There are also some typical firing imperfections.

此鈞窰天藍釉紫斑三足爐釉色精美，乃同類中之罕見珍品。其器形乃宋代經典，尺寸及紫斑灑彩則反映當時燒製工藝及風格。此類三足爐多見尺寸較小者，見一紫斑稍淡例，錄於 John Ayers，《Chinese Ceramics in The Baur Collection》，卷1，日內瓦，1968年，圖版A37；另見一例售於紐約蘇富比2002年9月19日，編號79；另有一例，紫斑僅見於爐身，刊於康蕊君，《玫茵堂中國陶瓷》，卷1，倫敦，1994年，圖版394。
鈞窰即河南禹州鈞台窰，古時亦稱鈞州，鈞窰瓷器以其釉厚色濃為特點，釉色精美，由天藍至深孔雀藍不等。十二世紀早期，陶工開始於燒製前在釉面加入少許銅料，以致原有乳藍色釉面上呈現紫斑。紫斑灑彩為原有鈞釉更添一抹豔麗，筆觸揮灑自如，見書法之風，深為其時文人貴族所喜。紫斑鈞瓷遂以其獨特灑彩技法，優雅器形及飽滿釉色成就卓然之美。此爐仿商至漢代禮器青銅立鼎之形。此仿古器形體現宋代文人學士好古之風，其時所藏之青銅器皿僅用於極少數特殊場合，以免磨損，因此仿古銅器及瓷器多有訂製。
