well worked in the form of a bat with the head turned towards its back, its wide wings covering two small bats and an archaistic coin inscribed tianxia taiping (‘Peace under heaven’), the smoothly polished stone picked out with patches of russet skin

The carving is in overall good condition. There is some nibbling or occasional nicks to some edges, including a minute nick to the left wing of the large bat and another to the edge of the coin.
