sturdily potted with a slightly ovoid compressed globular body resting on a countersunk foot, the exterior decorated with large blooming peonies borne on leafy branches extending in various directions, inscribed with a Tihe dian zhi ('Made at the Hall of Embodied Harmony') hall mark, all against an even turquoise ground and below key-fret and ruyi borders encircling the rim

There is some surface wear and scratches to the turquoise enamel around the exterior. There is rubbing to the gilding around the mouthrim. There are a few typical firing faults to the interior but overall the jar remains in good condition.
