the interior decorated with five colourful bats amidst swirling clouds, all below a key-fret border and gilt-rim, the exterior with three further bats painted in iron red, the base inscribed with an iron-red six-character reign mark

The dish is in good condition. There is expected rubbing to the gilding on the rim and the overglaze iron-red enamel. There are a few tiny minor losses to the enamel on the interior but overall the enamels have been rather well preserved.
