拍品資料及來源

"An inscription on this hand-painted map dates the work to the eighth year of Tenpō, which was the second of three eras in the reign of Japan's Ninkō emperor (1800-1846, r.1817-1846). The map thus appears to have been drawn in Japan in 1837. However, the political geography that it renders is that of China's Ming dynasty (1368-1644), which fell to Manchu invaders in 1644. In addition to depicting the thirteen provinces of the Ming, the map draws attention to areas that played a role in the Ming's relations with non-Han peoples" (All Under Heaven).
