《俯臥裸女》與二零年代風靡巴黎的藝術寵兒琪琪頗有相似；琪琪被稱作「蒙帕納斯的皇后」，對於自由主義的興盛發展貢獻良多。常玉在二零年代初期由保守的中國遷居巴黎，不到十年便遇見當時以坦率及大膽作風成名的琪琪，不難想像她對常玉創作的刺激。
