Please note that in the print catalogue the colours of this work appear less saturated. The fist and teeth are neon colours and they should be more pink and yellow.

KAWS，1974年生，為一縱橫美術與流行文化的跨界藝術家。在紐澤西以塗鴉開啟職業生涯，現居布魯克林並以其為根據地。 他以獨特的廣告看板、海報改造手法聞名。以顏色鮮豔的壓克力顏料繪畫及雕塑享譽盛名。

1995年於曼哈頓的視覺藝術學院就讀期間，他開始結合街頭藝術與商業設計。他為本地街頭穿搭品牌Subware設計，該品牌由同為塗鴉藝術家的Stash所創。1996年第一次造訪日本，透過Stash的關係，KAWS結識一群企業家與青年文創者，如創立知名潮流品牌BABPE的NIGO®。因為私交甚篤，其後，KAWS與NIGO®聯名發表了好幾項藝術計劃。九零年代後期，KAWS則有機會設計及生產限量版玩具。這些玩具隨即受到藝玩社群的歡迎。

KAWS是少數能在大眾商業零售世界乃至小眾高雅藝術領域大放異彩的藝術家。他的作品由限量版玩具到雕塑、獨特的繪畫以至男女裝，應有盡有，而藝術家本人也藉著明亮濃艷的色塊、卡通漫畫式的人物、抽象造型而打響名堂。創作於2012年的《NYT》，正是KAWS充滿神秘感的圓形畫作的典例。此系列中每件作品皆匠心獨運，將KAWS藝術世界中不同角色局部放大特寫。這些作品充滿玩趣，在現今高雅藝術與商業藝術界線逐漸消弭的時代中別具意義，在收藏圈中炙手可熱，極受追捧。
