Few gilt-bronze and cloisonné enamel baskets are known, compare this rare example with a pair of hexagonal hanging baskets, dated to the Wanli period, sold Christie's Hong Kong, 29th and 30th September 1995, lot 622. Compare also with another cloisonné enamel hanging basket in the Uldry collection similarly dated to the late 17th century, illustrated in Helmut Brinker and Albert Lutz, Chinese Cloisonne. The Pierre Uldry Collection, New York, 1989, pl. 161.
