清雍正 壽山石雕瑞獸鈕印寶兩方

both superbly carved of square form, surmounted by a mythical beast, one boldly rendered in the form of a crouching mythical feline powerfully crouching with its head and upper body turned towards its left, its bulging eyes dotted with in black and framed by thick eyebrows, flaming jowls and a prominently rendered snout, its powerful claws and bifurcated tail exquisitely picked out, the other in the form of a crouching single-horned xiezhai with its head turned towards its left, its ferocious expression and posture finely depicted and accentuated with its flaming jowls, feathery neck and dragon-like claws, its back with a prominently pronounced crenulated spine extending to a long curled feathery tail picked out in precise detail, the stone of a pale guarang hong ('pumpkin-seed red') colour mottled with greyish variegated cinnabar-red tones

壽山石質，色澤柔潤滲紅，未刻印面。鈕雕坐獸細緻入微。左寶若應龍獅身，頭頂獨角，雙目烔烔，獠牙半露，骨骼分明，羽翼出雙肩，伏臥盤尾分。右寶如虎添翼，彎眉上揚，墨彩點睛，腮後長翅，肩披細鱗，火焰繞身，利爪帶勁，躍躍如生。異獸矯健兇猛，盤踞璽上，顯彰皇家天威。

雍正元年（1723）正月二十三日，怡親王（1686-1730）上呈多方壽山石雕獸鈕寶， 雍正下旨交造辦處刻字作鐫刻印面，其中「紅色壽山石鼉龍鈕圖書」鐫「敬天尊袓」（圖一）、「紅色壽山石飛熊鈕圖書」鐫「朝乾夕惕」（圖二）；詳見中國第一歷史檔案館、香港中文大學文物館合編，《清宮內務府造辦處檔案總匯》，北京，2005年，卷1，頁10。二璽仍存北京故宮，收錄於《故宮經典－明清帝后寶璽》，故宮博物院，北京，2008年，編號168-169。瑞獸矯健有力，細膩入微，目光銳利，毫髮畢現，風格近此二方，如出一匠之手。康熙駕崩，至雍正登極、怡親王上呈圖章，前後才不過兩月餘，難完如此精雕壽石印寶數方，是以可推故宮類例應始於康末、成於雍初，恰正新帝之名。

台北故宮博物院清宮舊藏有一壽山石未刻章，與左寶成對，其尺寸一致，左右對稱，神情動態如出一轍（藏品編號：故雜001875，圖三）。若並排共置一案，二獸相視，定展雄心霸氣。台北故宮獸寶側面墨書「四年十二月廿七日壽山石」，應乃進宮記錄，或指雍正四年（1727）。

台北故宮尚有相類獸鈕未刻章數方，如壽山石鳳鳥寶（藏品編號：故雜001879 ）及獨角異獸寶（藏品編號：故雜001878），可資比對。

此類壽山石獸鈕印寶，雕琢精緻，凛凛生威，為上獻新帝而製，寄臣子之忠、託君王之夢、彰大國之風，誠屬稀珍。
