The Montblanc John F. Kennedy Limited Edition 3 is an elegant and masterful piece of art which reflects aspects of John F. Kennedy's life and career. The pen takes cues from his life as "The Lifestyle Icon" and as the President of the United States. The guilloché under bright blue lacquer, his initials engraved to clip, along with the rings and diamonds represent his family and the Kennedy dynasty: the 3 rings represent his brothers and the 10 marks represent the 10 family members. The details of the pen make reference to his career as president: on the cone is The Presidential Seal, his campaign motto “A Time for Greatness” is engraved on the cap ring, and the colors are the red, white and blue of America. Elements of pen refer to his commitment to landing a man on the moon: the lunar module is engraved on the nib, a moonstone set to the cap, and above the opaque aperture with the American flag on the pen cap for viewing the nib is engraved the date of his famous Rice University speech, September 12, 1962, calling for Americans to unite and set a common goal to "choose to go the moon."
