Condition

Movement running at the time of cataloging however it has not been tested for accuracy and may need service at the buyer's discretion and expense. Case in fair condition with wear consistent with age. Light scratches and scuffs overall. Wear to the case at the lips for opening the front bezel and back of case. Hinges very tight. Cuvette with scratches and marks from opening at the lip. Dial in good condition with light patina, some spotting at the subsidiary seconds, light scratch at the power reserve at the 12-hour marker, light scratches around the seconds hand arbor. Movement in good condition with some scratches to the barrel bridge, some loss to the nickel finish overall, some very small oxidation spots.

With an Extract from the Archives confirming sale on 25 September 1922, and noting that the watch received a Certificate from the Geneva Observatory on 10 January 1918. Together with a fitted associated case, and original additional numbered crystal and two hairsprings. 

According to the records of the Geneva Observatory, this present lot competed in a 1917 timing contest and obtained 780 points, with the winning piece obtaining 842 points. It was 11th place in that contest, and was awarded Third Prize. The régleur was J. Golay-Audemars.
