拍品資料及來源

There is an obvious affinity between this chalcedony bottle of plain honey colour and the series of imperial bottles from the late-Qianlong represented by Sale 7, lot 80; Sale 8, lot 1075; Sale 9, lot 142; and the mid-Qing princely bottle of Sale 5, lot 77.

There is another, almost identical bottle in the Franz Collection; it is of paler material, suggesting the owner of the hall had more than one made to present to friends as gifts, following the pattern of the Guyue xuan of the Qianlong emperor, which name occurred on a large number of snuff bottles to be distributed. See Franz 2013, pp. 66 and 213, no. 586.
