The outstanding use of the natural material here qualifies this as a stellar member of the group of ‘Eyeball Agate’ snuff bottle proposed by Moss in his Chinese Snuff Bottles from the Silica or Quartz Group. The use of the contrasting, red circles for the eyes is brilliantly conceived.
