of compressed globular form, the exterior inscribed with a poem attributed to Tang Ying, signed Zhong dou laoren (Old Man who Grows Beans), with three seals reading han, mo and possibly guxiang, all on a beige ground suffused with a russet-brown crackle, wood cover surmounted by a jade finial (3)

Condition

There is a small indentation on the outside footring and on one handle where a small pieces of kiln grit have come loose, and a shallow chip to the unglazed ridge inside the footring on the base. Overall the censer appear to be in good condition. The finial has been reattached to the cover and there are accession numbers written on the inside of the cover in red pigment.
