modelled as a furled lotus leaf with an undulating rim, the exterior deftly detailed with a network of veins, the underside with a coiled stem winding upwards and issuing a large lotus pad and blossom to the side, the interior with traces of gilding, the surface of a dark reddish-brown colour

The tip of the lotus stem on the underside of the cup has been broken off, approximately 2cm. There is general surface wear and loss to gilding.
