Condition
The canvas has an old relining and the paint surface has been pressed. The picture is covered by an old yellowed varnish and there are a number of discoloured small scattered retouching in the sky and in the centre part.
Inspection under ultraviolet light shows aforementioned retouchings in the sky upper left and in the centre amongst the rigging of the ships.
This lot is offered in a black ebonized Dutch-style ribbed frame with gold sight edge, with a number of knocks.
