The canvas is lined, the paint surface is stable and the varnish appears even and only marginally discoloured. There is one 1 by 1 cm damage to the edge of St Peter's forehead, but otherwise no major damages visible to the naked eye. Inspection under ultraviolet light reveals a campaign of scattered patches of strengthenings and retouchings throughout, particularly in the dark tones of the folds of the fabrics, and along the right margin in the orange drapery of St Peter's cloak. There are also some scatterd patches of restoration in the torso of the angel, and one or two in the faces of the angel and Saint. The varnish fluoresces opaque over the background, it's been partially cleaned over the figures. Offered in a simple painted gold and black slip frame in good condition.
