of circular form, the shallow domed cover lightly molded in relief with a scrolling peony spray, the outlines and veining of the petals incised, the sides undecorated, all supported on a splayed footrim, applied overall with an olive-green glaze (2)

Condition
An approximately 107mm rim crack cutting across the base of the box, approximately 50mm of the crack visible to the interior of the box. Three further cracks to the foot ring, the longest measuring approximately 14mm. The cover in good condition, with the exception of a 1mm chip to the inner rim.
The glaze of both the box and cover significantly abraded and polished.
