拍品資料及來源

Ahmad Sadali’s artistic career allowed him to embrace his spiritual identity through the visual tools of Abstract Art.  Cubism, Abstract and Colour Field Painting were all styles that he learnt during his studies. The paintings’ titles were literal descriptions that summarized the subject matter, composition and color palette of the composiiton featured.

The present painting Tujuh Purnama Dan Sisa Emas translated in English to mean Seven Full Moons and Remnants of Gold. The green background painted with thick vertical strokes represents the landscape accompanied by seven rusted-white strokes referenced in the title. Brushwork of illuminated gold is a signature motif in Sadali’s pieces to represent the sun and spiritual enlightenment. With a profound mind as rich as his canvases, Sadali is able to evoke a sense of self-discovery in Tujuh Purnama Dan Sisa Emas. The use of textural surfaces creates a tactile and viewing sensation that offers formalistic expressions. The act of creativity was a form of meditation for Sadali, a chance to achieve self-awareness and grow deeper into his faith.
