These works are in good condition overall, as are the canvases, which are both clear and taut. There is evidence of very light abrasions along the edges of the painting, but this does not affect the overall image as the paint layers are healthy overall. Upon close inspection, there are areas of paper residue, consistent with the frame line and in areas of thicker impasto, example on the white pigment on the bird (this is inherent to the painting, as it would have occurred while the paint was still wet). There are two faint vertical scuffs present at the man's hair in (i) Painter, only visible under a flashlight. Examination under ultraviolet light reveals no evidence of restoration for both works. Both framed.
