石破天驚逗秋雨

經歷了漫長的歐洲體驗，朱德群不僅對於西方藝術掌握透徹，對於中國文化亦有更清晰的體悟。他在1983年接受香港《明報月刊》採訪時指出：「中國畫家和其他國家的畫家一樣，對自己的民族、文化、歷史具有繼往開來的責任。每個國家、民族都有他的文化特色和繪畫的優點，這些優點往往是地域性的，如同方言，使人難以了解，欣賞不能深入。文學可以翻譯，但是繪畫則不能，難以達到宣揚國際的效果，所以在發展的方向上不能不注意使自己的作品具有一種世界觀，使中國文化世界化，變化國際語言，使他人可以了解欣賞。」隨著在西方畫壇聲譽日隆，朱德群自1976年開始重新投入紙上水墨創作，並從書法作品逐漸演變為抽象繪畫。在1993年誕生的《Par1.0》，藝術家對於西方抽象與中國水墨俱已嫻熟，水墨線條的靈巧多變，使得畫面的感情抒發更為自由；墨分五色的效果，象徵了西方油畫裡的光影變化。墨色暈染彼此複疊，使得構圖錯綜變幻，有如一曲琴瑟共奏的將軍令，顯示以素靜優雅見長的水墨，同樣能夠慷慨激昂、石破天驚。
