- huanghuali (Dalbergia odorifera)
交杌座面橫材鎪出壼門曲線並沿邊起陽線。座面原為織物軟屜，現以近代繩索編屜代之。圓材杌足皆以透榫接納入杌面橫材與杌足下着地橫棖的卯眼，軸釘貫穿前後兩足，出卯處墊有白銅菊花紋護眼錢和如意頭白銅飾件。正面兩足之間安踏床。踏床面板下牙子鎪出壺門式輪廓，沿邊起線，以小馬蹄接着地橫棖。

Condition
Good overall condition, with expected surface wear and minor bruises in keeping with its use over the centuries. The matting has been periodically replaced, as typical of Ming folding stools of this type. Oxidisation to the baitong plates.

「交杌引古思，遙想武官狩獵、將士征戰，途中小休用之。加飾白銅，更顯精緻悅目。」
沒有靠背的座具為杌，而交杌就是腿足相交的杌，俗稱馬閘。早在東漢時就有「靈帝好胡服、胡帳、胡床……」的記載，而胡床就是現在的馬閘、交杌。可見交杌是中國最早的座具之一。因其可摺疊，攜帶，存放都很方便，千百年來廣泛被人使用。
此具製作精美的明代黃花梨交杌，配有白銅飾件。明代畫家仇英所繪之《列女傳》版畫中一圖可見一名隨從扛著交杌，跟在主人馬後，暗示除了方便攜帶出行，更有協助上下馬的用途。
