硯屏取黃花梨木，紋理細緻流麗，屏心大理石，深淺斑駁，抽象，似山若水，意趣無窮。下飾葫蘆式站牙，夾裝壺門牙子，底座嵌雲石。

Condition
The table screen is overall in good condition. As visible in the catalogue photo, there is a crack to the stone at the base of the screen. Other minor surface wear.

「桌上硯屏，雅緻不輸筆墨硯，卻鮮為人識、罕為人賞。」
體型細小的屏風稱為硯屏，用以遮蔽硯台，避免磨墨時墨汁被風乾。美國紐約大都會博物館藏一幅由宮廷畫家謝環作於十五世紀的卷軸《杏園雅集圖》中，可見硯台側放置一件類似的硯屏。
李鑄晉、屈志仁編，《中國書齋：晚明文人的藝術生活》，紐約，1987年，頁125，收錄上海寶山縣顧村鎮萬曆年間朱守誠夫婦合葬墓中出土一紫檀硯屏，體型較小，可供參考。
