The panel is flat and unbeveled and made up of a single vertical board. The paint surface has some areas of minor lifting that should be attended to in the upper section that have resulted in two losses of approx 1/2 by 1/8 in. The varnish is yellowed and uneven. The painting present a lovely image but would benefit from a light clean and revarnish and the losses could be filled and inpainted. Offered in an elaborately carved gilt wood frame.

Though not identical, this painting is close in composition to Garofalo's Holy Family formerly in the Lanz collection and his Nativity formerly with Piero Corsini Gallery.¹
