the compressed globular body cast with shallow rounded sides, rising to a constricted neck and everted mouth, set with a pair of ‘S-shaped’ handles pierced with rectangular apertures, all supported on three bulging cabriole legs, the underside crisply cast with an apocryphal six-character Xuande mark, the patina of a rich chocolate-brown colour

Condition
There is expected pitting to the surface consistent with age and wear. There is a small dent to the rim, and another directly below on the side of the incense burner. On the opposite side of the vessel is a further small dented area above the foot.
