of circular section, the compressed body supported on a splayed foot, set with plain loop handles to either side, the base cast with a recessed rectangular panel enclosing an apocryphal kaishu inscription reading Xuande wunian Wu Bangzuo zao ('Made in the fifth year of Xuande by Wu Bangzuo'), the patina of an even dark brown colour

此香爐款識為偽款，上題「大明宣德五年監督工部官臣吳邦佐造」，類例多出現於明晚期及清。宣德時期銅器有無此落款尤未可知，因尚無可信現例可參，但此類款識確於晚明及清銅器上所常見。一類例可較，錄於 Paul Moss 及 Gerard Hawthorn著《The Second Bronze Age.
