Condition
The watch is in working condition while cataloguing.
The dial nicely preserved, with some scuffs and marks, mainly to the edge. Attractive hands.
The case with scuffs throughout, polished but still with visible and some readable hallmarks. With oxidation to the bezel and between the lugs, indicating the watch hasn't been used for a long time.
Overall in good condition, in accordance with the age of the piece.
Recommended.

This model, Ref. 96, the 'Calatrava', was produced for over 40 years. Production began in 1932. It is perhaps the most recognizable of Patek Philippe's designs, the classic vintage watch of understated elegance. The sophisticated style of the present lot is further enhanced by its attractive dial with painted Breguet numerals.
With an Extract from the Archives confirming date of sale on February 19th, 1942.
