the arched gilt-copper sceptre inlaid with three white jade plaques, the head carved with four foreigners progressing through a hilly landscape arboured with large pine and wutong trees carrying tribute gifts, the middle plaque with two further foreigners carefully bearing tributes in both hands, the third carved with two further foreigners against craggy rockwork under a wutong tree, all set in a gilt-copper filigree frame cast with a stylised border enclosing six further figures bearing tributes, flanked by white and green paste inset along the edges, the plaques and arched shaft border with key-fret bands, wood stand

In overall good condition with minute nicks to the extremities of the jade plaques as can be expected. There are areas of tarnishing and small dents to the gilt-bronze sceptre especially to the underside. Some of the paste may have been later added. The actual colour is quite similar to the catalogue illustration.
