此瓶通體繪卷草紋，紋飾秀雅，反映雍正帝推陳出新的風格及精益求精的品質。雍正皇帝對景德鎮御窰生產從設計造型至紋樣事事親力親為，所造之皇家用器，均須待他批准後方可燒製。在督陶官唐英的協助下，取傳統樣式融合新穎元素，所製瓷器無不精美，燒製技術達到歷史上最高水平。

一相似例出舒思深收藏，曾三次拍賣，最近售於香港佳士得2010年12月1日，編號2966。另有一例售於香港蘇富比1990年5月15日，編號138。

此器與故宮博物院藏明闘彩梅瓶如出一轍，見《故宮博物院藏文物珍品全集．五彩．闘彩》 ，香港，1999年，圖版60。雍正御窰工匠在裝飾紋飾裏注入了新的西洋風格元素，此器上新穎別緻的洛可可式卷草紋，反映了當時中西藝術文化交流的特徵。
