mounted as a handscroll, made from thirteen sections of different colored brocade woven with a dense pattern of cranes and clouds, inscribed in Chinese and Manchurian, the Chinese reading from right to left and the Manchurian from left to right, the opening section woven with two dragons flanking the characters fengtian gaoming (imperial mandate of heaven), repeated in the Manchurian section, with one imperial seal reading zhi gao zhi bao (the edict seal) in Chinese

Condition
The first half of the scroll with frayed edges, there is fading and stains to the brocade cover, fading and wear to the title slip as well as to the ink. There are a few stains to the end of the scroll, and one scroll end is missing. Otherwise in overall good condition.
