Condition
The overall condition is quite good, except for some expected tear and wear to the edges of the paper, as well as occasional insect holes. One spread of gilt-splashed paper are separated along the folding line. The original mounting appears to have been preserved. The covers and the box are also in general good condition, in spite of some scratches. The incised characters have traces of gilding.

論佛教之大乘，則必不可不提「般若心經」。唐時有聖僧玄奘，大通佛法，譯「心經」，唱天竺之音千年不斷，流傳至今。「心經」通篇精短，然蘊意無窮，世有萬物，唯一「空」字而已。自古多有人抄之，一可研練書法，精進字章，又可功表誠心，感德無量。
乾隆帝，虔心向佛，親執御筆所抄「心經」無以數計。本品御冊，即為一篇，書於辛未之年，後至乾隆四十年奉御命拓印成冊。
乾隆一朝，器書御筆者，品材各異。可參考一玉冊例，慈禧太后舊藏，現存切斯特·比替圖書館，錄W. Watson，《Chinese Jade Books in the Chester Beatty Library》，都柏林，1963年，編號2，頁24。另見一例，裝紫檀面，售香港蘇富比，「龍遊帝苑」專場，2004年10月31日，編號6。再見一略小例，售香港佳士得2004年4月26日，編號988。
