the deity seated in vajraparyankasana on a lotus throne with tiered rectangular base adorned with peacocks, wearing the five-pointed crown, with jatamukata with jeweled finial, wearing elaborate jewelry and holding a jivana-kalasha, surrounded by a retinue of celestial beings, emanations, and flanked by Avalokiteshvara at left and Vajrasattva at right, with a host of supplicants and precious offerings in the lower register, framed in a textile mount

Condition
Surface abrasions, creasing and wear, some losses to pigment and water staining overall. Areas of in-painting, in blue halo behind the central figure, inscription now separated and enclosed in the frame with brocade textile mount. Not examined outside of frame.

Inscribed on verso in Tibetan, Manchu, Chinese and Mongolian, and dated 1802 by inscription. The Tibetan inscription reads:
On the fifteenth day of the fourth month of the seventh year of [the] Jiajing [period], a lama-artist from Zhongzhen Hall painted an image of the blessed Tsepame by official decree. In Manchu he is called Mohun Akhu Drala Phunga Phu Chihi; in Mongolian he is called Dragla Shi Ughe Nasu Thupur Han, [and] in Chinese he is called Duwu Liang She'u Pho.
