本件《學山堂印譜》一套由學山堂印譜敘（各家作）一卷，印文八卷，跋語、學山記序之序、學山記游、學山題詠一卷（共十卷）組成。扉頁著有明古吳白於山人張灝夷令氏鑒藏，壻葛鼒竑調參攷。
張灝，江蘇太倉人，活躍於明萬曆至崇禎年間，字子耕、夷令，別號白於山人等，曾於萬曆四十五年（1617）輯成《承清館印譜》二集。此《學山堂印譜》中的印文均是張氏多年讀書所摘得的古代聖賢法言與文學家名句。由於張氏耆印成癖，便請當時的篆刻名家將他所摘得的語句勒石成印，二十多年的時間里聚攢了超過二千方印章，遂編纂成書。這些印文雖是張灝一個人所選，但印章多為歸昌世、王修之、蘇宣等那個時代的名家所刻。印譜敘也是彙集了湯顯祖、徐光啟、吳偉業等明朝文學大家的作品。此套印譜雖非集古印譜，但遍集當時名手特意之作，這讓我們對明朝中晚期篆刻藝術的風貌有了一個總體的瞭解。
